Every departure begins at Strandkaien, where a small-group coach heads north along the Osterfjorden, Norway's longest fjord corridor, before the road climbs toward Voss and the rushing curtain of Tvindefossen. By midday the coach reaches Gudvangen, where the Nærøyfjord narrows to barely 250 metres between cliff faces that rise more than a kilometre from the water — one of the reasons UNESCO listed it as a World Heritage Site.
What follows is a two-hour crossing under towering rock, a stop in the harbor village of Flåm, and a climb to a mountainside viewpoint that few first-time visitors expect. It is a full day, built around a single idea: let the landscape do the talking, with a local guide filling in the rest.

Departure at 08:00 sharp from Strandkaien. The full loop runs roughly eleven hours, with the pace easing whenever the view calls for it.

Note: due to the nature of the roads and landscape in Western Norway, occasional delays may occur. The schedule above allows some flexibility for exactly that reason.
The Fine Print, Made Simple
Before You Board
Smoking is not permitted in the vehicle or indoors during stops, and the same goes for alcohol. Food and drink should stay off the coach as well, though guests are welcome to bring snacks to enjoy during breaks.
The tour runs in all weather conditions, so dressing in layers and wool pays off. Arrive at the meeting point 15 minutes before departure, which means 07:45 for an 08:00 start.
Special dietary requests for the included lunch must be submitted by 14:00 the day before the tour, so the kitchen has time to prepare.
To keep the shared coach comfortable for everyone, guests are asked not to smoke immediately before re-boarding after a stop.
Getting There
The coach parks at the bus stop near the terminal for fast boats at Strandkaien, in central Bergen. Traffic in the area occasionally pushes the bus into a slightly different spot nearby, still within the same stretch of harborfront, and it isn't unusual to find three or four tour coaches parked close together. If in doubt, any driver or guide in the area can point the way.

The two hours on the Nærøyfjord were the best two hours of our whole Norway trip. Our guide pointed out a waterfall we would've completely missed and even spotted a sea eagle circling above Gudvangen. Worth every minute of the early start.

Gorgeous scenery from start to finish, and Stegastein alone justified the trip. Only reason for four stars instead of five is that our bus ran about 25 minutes behind after a traffic backup near Voss, so lunch felt a little rushed.
Western Norway's mountain roads can be unpredictable, and Naeroyfjord Cruise is sorry the delay cut into lunch. That feedback goes straight to the scheduling team.
We planned our entire Bergen stopover around this tour and it delivered on every front. The drive out along the fjord felt like a documentary come to life, Tvindefossen was close enough to feel the spray on our faces, and then the cruise itself through the Nærøyfjord was almost silent except for the guide's commentary and the occasional gasp from other passengers. Flåm gave us just enough time to grab a coffee and walk the pier before Stegastein delivered the kind of view you usually only see in postcards. My wife, who gets seasick easily, had zero issues on the boat. Can't recommend this enough.
